I'm super behind on blogging since things have been pretty crazy around here with wedding season in full swing but this little lady's session just needed to be shared! You might recognize her from her fresh 48 session! I absolutely love shooting both fresh 48 and newborn sessions for my clients! It is SO fun to see how much babies change in just a couple weeks!
I first met Lauren when she was a bridesmaid in Mitch and Angela's New Years Eve Wedding a few months prior and I knew right away she was going to be a blast to work with. Her bubbly personality and radiant smile quickly fills the room!
Sweet Emalyn's arrival was an anticipated one! Her parents are friends of ours and I was so excited for them to welcome a baby girl after having twin boys! She was just the sweetest thing for her Fresh 48 session just 4 hours after her birth! <3
Another amazing style shoot in the books! This shoot was a blast! When Kari and I were dreaming up a theme for this style shoot we wanted to combine the soft vintage look of dusty blues, champagne pinks, grays, and white with the upcoming modern trend of copper accents. Tucker Hill Vineyard's barn made a gorgeous venue for the shoot and worked so well with our vision.
Sweet baby Vada Marie! I couldn't get over all her chunk! I loved seeing how much she had changed in just the few days since her Fresh 48 session!
As parents we can't wait to meet our babies once they are born. We spend hours dreaming about what they are going to look like. Will they have Mom's eyes or Dad's nose, Dark hair or no hair, the list goes on and on!
This chunky little man was in the studio recently for his 6 month photos! It's hard to believe he is already a sitting, 6 month old baby! It seems like he was just in the studio for his newborn pictures! He is such a little ham!
It's been on my to-do list for quite some time now to sit down and write out Kohen's birth story. I knew I wanted to write it out so I had it documented while it was still fresh in my mind. So here it goes, Kohen James' birth story.
When sweet baby Leah's momma contacted me to book her session I was a bit in denial that she was old enough to be having babies since I knew her older sister in high school. I'm officially getting older than I think folks! Leah made a surprise entrance when she made her arrival 3 weeks before her due date! She weighed in at just 5lbs 13oz and 20 inches long but she still had some chunk on her! Such a cute little honey, she was so good for her session! Congratulations Sarah and Adam, she is beautiful!
I don't know about all of you but I am sick and tired of all this rain we've been having lately! I'm just dying to shoot some outdoor sessions again, especially families! I decided to share one of my favorite family sessions from last year with you! Meet the Kelderman family! We had the most gorgeous night for their session and I'm pretty sure their family couldn't have been cuter! I am so excited for them to welcome another little one into their family later this year!
These two braved some cold temps and frigid wind for some great wedding day shots! Kendra booked me to cover their day starting with her getting ready at The North Place near Hull, IA. This adorable little farmhouse has the perfect bed and breakfast feel and makes the perfect bridal suite! Kendra got ready in the loft bedroom upstairs and we got some gorgeous images.
This little cutie was so dang adorable! When he first arrived at the studio for his 2 year pictures he wasn't so sure about me! As soon as I hauled out the wooden blocks and toys and we played for a bit, he warmed right up to me! I couldn't get enough of his big brown eyes and adorable little jean shorts with suspenders!
If you've been following my work for a while this family probably looks familiar! I've been lucky enough to do a few different sessions with them and always love the images we get! Madison is a blogger at Espresso & Cream and also my Beautycounter mentor. She has just the sweetest little family and I was thrilled to do some maternity photos of them before baby sister arrived!
Since the Orange City Tulip Festival is this weekend I thought Emeri's tulip inspired session just had to be shared! If you aren't Dutch or from Northwest Iowa you may not have heard of the Tulip Festival. The festival is a three day annual event packed full of all things Dutch from food, costumes, singing, dancing, wooden shoes, and of course LOTS of tulips!
Fresh 48 sessions are always one of my favorites. There is something about a brand new baby that is just SO good. It's like a drug. I just can't get enough of those fresh babies. Vada definitely did not disappoint. I couldn't get enough of her full cheeks and chubby legs!
When Angela booked me for her wedding I was thrilled to hear she was planning a New Year's Eve wedding! I mean as if weddings weren't already a party why not have one on New Years Eve?! My excitement was a bit shaken when we found out we were expecting another baby and I was due just 2 weeks after Mitch and Angela's wedding date. I reached out to her and she was just the sweetest thing. She congratulated us and was so chill about the entire thing. We made a plan for me to hire another photographer as a backup for me just in case something came up. I was so grateful she still was up for me shooting their wedding day, even if I was largely pregnant!
Scarlett was in the studio recently for her newborn session and I just couldn't get over all cuteness! She was one of the smiliest babies I have had in a long time! I loved her dark and fluffy hair and those squishy back rolls that are only cute on babies! ;)
I am more than a little late blogging this gorgeous day since it's been a full year since Austin and Allison's beautiful day. I thought it was fitting to blog their gorgeous winter wedding since Mother Nature decided to dump another blizzard on us today, one year later. Austin and Allison's day was one to remember, complete with 18" of fresh snow! They were such great troopers and still wanted to go outside for some photos and it was SO worth it, even if it meant Allison had to have her hair done twice! ;) We may have needed all-wheel drive to get around the town of Rock Valley for their photos but they turned out breathtaking!
Baby Drake was so good to me at his newborn session! I loved his fluffy hair and long fingers and toes!
Graham and Mariah had such a beautiful wedding day! Not only was their day great but they also have an incredible story. The couple first became friends when Graham moved into the house in Mariah's neighborhood, they were just 2 years old! When they were in fourth grade, Graham moved across town. Fast forward to Junior High and they started dating in the 7th grade. They continued to date through High School and even as they went off to separate colleges but quickly realized the long distance thing wasn't for them.
