Andy + Tricia // Elegant St. Patty’s Day Sioux City, IA Wedding

SHARE

From the moment Tricia initially contacted me about her wedding I knew I was going to love her! She was so sweet, and knew what she wanted for an elegant, intimate wedding day. Working around her and her fiancé’s military schedules wasn’t easy but they settled on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 2018.

Andy and Tricia’s ceremony took place at the Sioux City Orpheum Theater, and it was such a fun change of pace for me to shoot. The guest list was small and the venue didn’t need much for decor because it shined all on it’s own.

I adored all the small Irish touches Tricia incoperated into the day, like these beautiful handkerchiefs for her parents.

How gorgeous is this space? We couldn’t resist taking some portraits in the theater with these incredible chandeliers.

We couldn’t resist doing some photos inside the theater, especially with those gorgeous chandeliers!

Andy and Tricia were troopers when it came to photos outside. They braved the crisp, cold March air and we walked downtown Sioux City.

Andy and Tricia were so great about the chilly March weather and still wanted to do some photos outside. We walked around downtown and found some great spots near the theater!

Instead of a large reception venue, Andy and Tricia opted for a small dinner at Kahill’s Chophouse in Sioux City with just immediate family and their officiant. Before dinner we headed behind Kahill’s to take some photos along the river. The overcast weather creates this gorgeous moody setting for portraits!

Instead of a traditional large reception, Tricia and Andy opted for a small, personal dinner at Kahill’s Chophouse along the Big Sioux river. With just their immediate family and their officiant (and myself) present it was the perfect small gathering to celebrate their special day! Before we started dinner, I snuck outside with the newlyweds for some photos along the river. I’m so glad I did. I love the way couples just relax and enjoy each others company once the ceremony is finished.

The dinner was full of conversation, laughter, and amazing food. The best way to end the evening! What an incredible day it was, thanks again for choosing me to be apart of such an intimate day for the two of you! Wishing you all the best Andy and Tricia!
